So, last night I tried out a few of the new anime this season! Time for some early feedback!
Ikoku Meiro no Croisee
This is set in the 19th Century, and is the story of a cutiepie little japanese girl called Yune, who is abducted by an old man goes to live in Paris and work in a signmakers. At first the guy running the shop is really against it, but slowly warms up to her.
Well, she is FUCKING ADORABLE after all.
Anyway, within seconds of pressing play I was already impressed! Those backgrounds!! I just can’t get over how gorgeous all the background art is… I assume there’s lots of existing reference for 19th century Paris, maybe that’s why,but either way it’s just so pretty.
Yune herself looks really out of place, but that’s kind of the point. Perhaps it doesn’t help that her eyes are twice as big as anyone else’s, but well… she really is cute.
I’ll definitely try out the next couple of episodes - I’ll only drop it if it ends up being reeeally boring.
